Splitting brood and a half for swarm control

I have already had to swarm control once this year, I may have reunited too early as I have found swarm cells again. Rather that put bees into a full brood box I have left the queen on original site minus all queen cups with supers on. I have removed the brood super to new site with a queen cell in. My question is... Will one super of brood and stores be ok to raise new queen in? Or should I wait a week then try to reunite? All help appreciated!
