Drawing comb in queenless colonies

I’ve swarm controlled a few colonies - this year by putting the queen into a Nuc. Sealed swarm cell about to emerge in the ‘parent’ colonies. Supers are getting full and need to add another. Ideally I’d like to get some new super frames drawn. I do have some wet supers but id prefer to save for later in the season

What’s your experience of getting comb drawn in colonies that don’t have a mated queen in but do either a queen cell or a newly emerged virgin in the hive.
Are they likely to be drawn well?

My experience not but they forage like mad .
I suppose it all depends how many wax building bees there are .

If they need to draw comb in which to store honey, they will. However without a queen in the hive, honey will be stored in the brood frames so once the queen has emerged and is maturing, bees will make space for her to lay in the brood box so the honey will have to go somewhere. Upstairs in the supers you will hope.
