Hi guys.

Got a problem. Need your ideas.
And no sniggering on the back row, jenkinsbrynmair!

The hive is in the roof of Manchester Cathedral.
Three, possibly four supers to be removed for extraction.
But the only way down is a narrow, spiral stone staircase - 43 steps down.

dear Sir
Do it same way as you carried the hive up there.

Sincerely yours
The whole Scandinavia

PS. May the Force be with you

There you are Dusty - the answer was there all the time - take all the honey out of the frames to make the supers light enough to carry one handed down the narrow, steep spiral staircase ans job done - the only question now is how are you going to empty all the frames?
Any ideas out there?

Question is, are supers full or empty

The yield was miserable in whole England this summer, but cathedral hive brought a record, 100 kg.
IT is a miracle!

It must be windy place, and on some beautiful sunday visitors will get yellow rain onto their costumes. It will be called Holy Spirit's Leaking, and it will heal diseases and malfunctions and malformations.

Hallelujah...... To those soft drink automats where bees foraged!

can you have a word with the boss ? and see if he can get gabriel to pop them down to the car park ;)

My first instinct would be to wait for a cold frosty day or after dusk to extract on the roof so bees do not go crazy. failing that, many trips up and down with a 6 frame nuc should be manageable.

We had a pretty good year in Manchester compared to the rest of the country.

Feels very odd saying that lol

Frames very much full, and lots of them. I should know, I bagged a load of them ;)

What we all can learn from this case:
1) Stay far away from cathedrals.
2) Keep you feet on the ground!

Finman, we will reserve a special seat in our cathedral, just for you.

An honoured place; we welcome both saints and sinners.

I'll leave you to decide which you are!

And you can tell me what's wrong about my beekeeping.

Dusty

Load wrapped frames into rucksack. Carry rucksack downstairs..repeat.
Finish, relax, dram, sleep.
