i bought a veil from simon as a spare to leave in the van and it was very cheap and very poor quality, but you get what you pay for.I certainly wouldn't wear as my main veil as the quality is that bad.The delivery was good though, and for the record this is not part of a smear campaign.

I live about 30 minutes drives away from STBKs 'shop'.

Bought my suit there at the start of this season along with gloves. Gloves failed within 3 months and veil split around July. As it happens I'd changed to nitrile gloves and marigolds and bought a BBWear suit in their sale. The BBWear is much better but was much more expensive.

I took the gloves and suit to STBK. Gloves were a stitching fault and were replaced. They also offered to replace the entire suit but after I said it was just the veil that was the issue they found a returned suit with a sound veil which was moved to my suit.

So not the highest quality but they did resolve the problems quickly.

I'd use them again without any concerns.

Edited to add: I subsequently bought my sons suit from there. Cheap and cheerful but safe, if he grows out of his suit or gets bored of bees then it's no issue.

I have purchased plenty from Simon, not suits though as BB gets my vote. Simon gives a decent quality at a fair price and customer service second to none. The big T did a thousand labels for me last month all wrong even though I have had three thousand already, the point being everyone sometimes gets its wrong how it is dealt with matters and slagging off on this forum is not the way.

In fairness, this thread was started with a positive report.

It started and finished eight months ago, with every post being positive, and has been resurrected by someone who apparently joined the forum for the sole purpose of attacking Simon.
And the grounds for his attack are more than somewhat dubious.

:iagree::iagree:

And not a peep from him since to justify the smear

Been buying from Simon for some time now considering his prices his stuff is very good .If you need something of a higher quality than go somewhere else but don't be surprised if its no better than the stuff Simon sells.

I have only used Simon the once. I could not fault the service that I got. I went up with my son to get him a suit and the lady stopped what she was doing and spent time to get what i wanted for him.

Not had too many problems buying from them but what really does annoy me is receiving a message saying goods have been dispatched when they haven’t. I think they must have an automated system that says goods have been dispatched, i queried a delivery recently and was told they take 2-3 days from order request to send out.

Simon the beekeeper suits

Was looking at previous posts about Simon and I also have used him several times, but this week have come across a problem that I feel should be shared. About two years ago I bought a Buzzwear lightweight suit for my daughter and this year the veil started to deteriorate quite badly, as a replacement was only £8 I ordered one only to find that the replacement has a single zip, and the original suit has a two zip system so the replacement isn't compatible! I emailed Simon to see if there was a solution, especially as they advertised it would be compatible, only to be advised it would only fit their white suits!! As my daughters suit was Latte I was effectively stuffed. I suggested they highlight this fact on their website. No refund was offered (although I'm not really bothered about £8) but the response from Hannah means they have lost at least two customers.

As the goods aren't fit for purpose or as described then you have the statutory right for a full refund; I'd press for return postage costs as well.

I purchased a number of plastic QE from Simon. Before I could use them I was e-mailed to say they were fauly. The holes were too small. A few days later they were replaced with metal QEs. I have purchased a graet deal of equipment from Simon. Sevice has always been excellent. He is one of the good guys!!!

Yeah , you got that message because I reported it to them but not before it had cost me a few thousand in swarms. The queen excluders had 3.8-3.9mm gaps that the workers couldn't get through either.
Other than this issue I've always found them really helpful.

Bought some SN4 frames last week and arrived 2 days later. Really quick and no issues

Just a tip.... if you order small amounts, it is cheaper on postage to order his stuff through Amazon than his website.

Exactly the same here..i can not fault the company however i have now moved over to Abelo as i can not fault that establishment in any way..

Got an email promising a metal QE, not arrived but as he was doing it as a precautionary thing there's no drama. It was actually a nice PR thing to do. Bought wax at tradex and I was found a few sheets short. They were posted next day and so for me a good company with a good moral compass so the STBK gets my vote.
