Replaced and pushed down hard with strapped down roof works for me

No. The propolis on the rim will just stick the crownboard back down
Close up push down, it’s really not an issue.

If the bees are not happy with the seal they will fix it in a matter of hours....

Make sure you replace it in the same orientation you removed it
Thanks - I get it. Any heat loss is assumed insignificant if board return and roof replacement are up to standard and the Bees do their usual repair job internally.
