Hi all,
I cannot remember, but someone on the forum suggested that I could not have 12 frames of capped brood and very little else. .

i have never seen that. Normally the sidemost combs are filled with pollen or honey.

then you have cold mesh floor against brood. Usually lowers part has no brood.

if you keep supers tight, bees store nectar into brood combs.

what idea is to calculate these things, I cannot see any value.
Queens do not act mathematically and you cannot predict what it does.

If you give douple brood, then you see the laying capacity.

The colony needs quite much pollen stores. They are situated nect to brood.
Do you have in hives room for pollen? If not, they store it into super.

.

Summary: it is better not to plan how bees use they brood combs. They just do it with their instincts.

.Excluder seems to be unnaturally important to UK beekeepers. It is a beekeeper who situates it into hive and after that he wonders what now! Inspecting queen? - No, not at all. Like in wild hives, queen does not vanish from hives even if no one is inxspectingv their existence.

2 problems in that 2000 eggs per day laying...

1) It is very good queen. It is not a normal queen.

2) When an ordinary beekeeper gets such a queen, he does not know what to do.

3) You much do strict selection to keep queen that good.

"I have a strong hive which has 6 brood frames". That sounds normal text on forum.
- Split it, split it!!!

Finman,

Read more carefully. This is 12 frames of capped brood, so a lay rate of 4000 per day. Ha ha.

lj,

Yes the OP was baiting, or trying to get support from the non-thinking elements on the forum (which she is clearly failing to do, other than the other odd poster).

I'm actually having a good larf as it does vividly show others, that seek advice from the forum, who they should take heed of and those who should be ignored. The thread may well be remembered for a long time and be used for demonstration purposes. I have little sympathy for those that spread such misinformation to unsuspecting new beeks.

4000 eggs per day! What utter rubbish, especially when one looks back at the other thread - 4000 eggs per day. Ha ha. Then a complete rest from laying. Ha ha ha. Supercedure of a healthy queen which is laying at such a phenominal rate. Ha ha ha ha. Capped brood cells in much less than three weeks of the queen cell being capped. Ha ha ha ha ha. A truly extraordinary beekeeper, to say the very least. Exaggeration in the extreme from someone with apparently few mathematical or literary skills it would appear.

So many times posts have been answered with 'l have read somewhere ...'. The above fiction is there to be read. The fact that it is the written word clearly does not mean there is any truth in it. I, at least, can give examples of all the above points, so my posts are justifiable. Are yours?

It is sad to see this thread. I am sure that Beano had a serious question that could have been answered in a serious way following a few questions. Why, all you sarcastic, so called experts, can't help rather than hinder. Not everyone is an expert and we newcomers value the ability of a forum like this to learn. How can we learn when all some of you do is to make the questioner feel miserable.

I have suffered from "you " as well. I think you should apologise to Beano NOW if you are real MEN. But I doubt you will.

You obviously don't know the history of this discussion, or the previous post - this has not been a serious thread from the start just someone :beatdeadhorse5: that should have been glue a long time ago as the OP won't listen to reason and is in danger of misleading beginners with an ill thought out and misguided post.
Talking of horses - time to step off the alpine one I think :D
