I am feeding at the moment lots of bees looks healthy no super on do i take my queen excluder off and why?

no need for it if there are no supers on.

QE stops (not always) q going up to your honey supers and laying there.

No honey supers therefore no QE.

Lots of beeks don't use them either. There's loads of posts on the rights and wrongs of QEs

.
It sounds that you hive is too big for winter.

If the queen has laid in one box, one box is enough to winter bees.

But if the wintering box is full of brood and you must start feeding,
it is better then give empty combs over the brood frames that bees can store food in time.

1. no need for it
2. dangerous to have in vicinity of brood box in winter (see threads passim)
3. will get glued to the crownboard - remove with supers and clean up ready for next year.
