Overwinter queens in mini Nuc

Likewise, both kielers and apidea doing well, only did it for spare queens but some are too big for their small home now so I am going to put the whole box over the feed hole in a Nuc box and close their own entrance, hopefully they will move down to the drawn frames with a small amount of stores in the nuc. Its either that or use the queen and shake the bees in the air at another apiary.

How about turning a nuc into a giant kieler?

Using blocks of wood in a rough U shape to reduce the nucs width and depth so you can hang the top bars in the space, then add more frames to suit the nuc.

This is how I intend to build up two colonies later this year using the polish mini hive I bought last year.
