I have a 60ft high beech tree in my garden. My friend who is working on a neighbouring property called me round today to view a honey bee nest. One of my swarms has made an open nest towards the top of the beech tree. From my neighbours garden it can be seen, and using binoculars you can see 3 tea plate size combs flanked by 2 smaller pieces. It is too far away to photograph. I suppose it will come down in a wind, hopefully not when I am snoozing in the shade of the tree. My colleague has suggested I talk to our local retained firemen and ask them to get me up there as part of their training!!! I suspect its more than their jobs worth!!!
