denier refers to thread thickness rather than mesh gauge (an outdated term in nylon hosiery circles).

PS I'm sure various gauges of straining mesh will be adequately demonstrated in the forthcoming fundraising calendar for a certain manchester school beekeeping project!!!!

and bought a muslin square, some wooden pegs and a fermenting bin with lid from Wilkinsons when they were on sale, ready to strain my honey in the autumn.

I may fit a honey gate on the bottom of the bin, stainless steel ones are available cheaper than anywhere else from Abelo.

Does anyone prefer stainless steel tanks instead of plastic?
I can't decide what to get!
Stainless steel would be best, but they are hideously expensive.
