Tosh!

Not ALL mums can breast feed for a variety of reasons ranging from physically having insufficient breast tissue to mastitis to taking chemotherapy etc etc etc.

I'm no fan of big pharma who need to be controlled and regulated to curtail their excesses. Ironically the organisations that do that are organisations such as the VMD.

Not that it's relevant but I have always encouraged my patients who are mums to breast feed first line.

We were talking third world developing countries where it has been proven that the cynical push to get all nursing mothers onto formula has had a negstive effect on the poorer communities - not here

For heaven's sake
£17.50 is a blooming' lot if you have just the one hive.
My old BKA used to make the stuff up and you could go along to a meeting with an empty jam jar

We all need to go treatment free.

It is very easy. Let it be two years in peace and you have no hives what to treat.
Arrange so that new swarms cannot go into hives.

.
But as we know, how difficult is to mix sugar and water together, it is better to buy from Germany beekeeping stuffs
.

Actually they leave the mixing up to the beekeeper

OXUVAR consists of:

750 ml container with dihydrate oxalic acid solution
Paper bag with rapidly soluble sucrose powder

Yes....you could put half the bag of sugar in or three quarters?
Or come on to the forum to ask how to make up an X % solution :D

So, for eighteen quid you get
A) a leetle pot with a poundsworth of OA
B) A paper bag with ten pennorth ofa soluble sucrose powder - enough to make a pint of solution.
But you don't have to use it all in one go - you can mix it a bit at a time
And that's fine.

**although you will have to pay 5p for the carrier bag**

BUT

You go out and buy
A) a medium pot with a fiver's worth of OA in
B) a paper bag with forty penceworth of soluble sucrose solution from Lidl.

And everybody is getting their undercrackers into a right bunch of boogers!!

The muppet whose hives gave me AFB (confirmed by DNA) was treatment AND inspection free..

I am not impressed/

Thanks that will save having to buy these special quality chemicals and fill in treatment records. Probably won't result in reduced oxalic content in any honey produced since it's so commonly found in nature.
