I was using a feeder that I was given, { see piccie I know its old but thought it would be ok till I get a new one}, I noticed some of my bees were drowning in it and they didn't use it very often. So I made this one , they don't drown and now they are using it alot . What do think?

I have a frame feeder and I fill with lots of twigs - no drowned bees :)

Your first picture looks like a chicken drinker to me - if so it does give me an idea. A 5 litre one is £3.78 from Mole Valley Farmers.

use chicken drinkers in mine regularly not had problem drowning but if I had to would use stones in the moat so to speak

Nice idea! - Carefull when filling it up and inverting without spilling.

:iagree: Be careful. easy to put it in place on top of the brood and then catch the top when you put the hive back together. A litre of sugar syrup can come as a bit of a shock when it is given in one dose!!!! Otherwise, brilliant cheap idea!
