At least payne tell you upfront they dont have the stock!! and then you can deside if you want to fund there business with hundred of small intrest free loans
It beats going to the bank for a business loan and paying a fortune
when you can lure hundred of people in to buying non existet stock
so you can then go out and buy it when it suits you

When buying queens you know the approx time you will get them if you buy one in december and pay for it you would not want it there and then would you most decent queen sellers dont even ask for payment upfront anyway.

My answer was to....no point in having the price listed if not in stock.

Many companys list the price of new items, that they do not yet have in stock.

It's very common for a website not to give a price for items, but usually it's companies that are not dealing direct with the public. I think it's because business to business transactions are viewed in a more flexible way.

I've dealt with Swienty many times and always very good. However, it's always Josephine and perhaps they are too reliant on one individual. Tough luck if she's on hols?

FWIW I have mailed Swienty a link to this thread so they can learn from it.

If you had a link under "these" it failed.

This is what I shop for and I really don't understand your comments about pricing as to me it is pretty clear.

**************** do the same thing:

http://www.****************.co.uk/item/135/6-frame-langstroth-nucleus-hive"]These[/URL]

for the same price but, they are in the UK, easily contactable and excellent with customer service.

They contact you toute suite if you leave an answerphone message.

Returns are no argument and replacements or money back ditto.

Space for fondant under frames and they sell frame feeders for them too.

Further benefits must be:

Postage cheaper due to being in UK.

Bulk orders discount.

Established reputation for the hives in Scandinavian countries.

They sell the National to Langstroth frame conversion very cheaply - cheaper than you could make it.

They supply lovely 1.8L feeders.

Nucs have entrances at opposite ends and can be divided to 2 in 1.

A company that is trying hard and delivers the goods.

A National Hive in polystyrene is on the way.

Excellent website full of advice and information for new to beekeeping. Also clear photographs, clear instructions and improving as we speak.

You know exactly how much you will be paying for the product AND the P & P BEFORE you click the 'PAY' button.

BEST, they answer e-mails, none of the 'Oh our e-mail was down/not working/we didn't receive it/went elsewhere/went into our Junk mail

Yes i have these and they seem to be OK but they are not nationals.
I would prefer not to faff about with frame converters.

Await with interest what's at Stoneleigh.

Now it is March, any sightings of the new poly nuc?

I may have peculiar settings on my PC, but I just hate having to scroll down to the bottom of the page to move across the screen. It sucks.

PeterS,

I would prefer not to faff about with frame converters.

Why would you do that? A relatively simple, once off, conversion of the nuc is all that is required. See this thread:
