This is actually new research findings, and quite different I think from what has previously been Posted on this Forum.

The other article on this Forum found here
https://beekeepingforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=40342
is about Metarhizium anisopliae fungi which parasitize varroa mites.

While the OP links to an article about amadou (Fomes) and reishi (Ganoderma) fungi which instead of attacking the mite seems to be countering the virus's which the mite helps to spread (it is still unclear if this is by making the bees stronger and therefore more resistant or by actually attacking the virus directly).

The original research is found here,

There appears to be two halves to the research, the reishi (Ganoderma) performs well against Lake Sinai virus (LSV) while the amadou (Fomes) performs well against Deformed Wing Virus (DWV), although when you look at how plain old simple, cheap and easily available Birch (Betulus sp. wood) perfomed, it didn't seem to do too bad!

You must get down varroa mites. IT does not help if you treat that wing virus separately.
