No problem at all.

People overwinter queens in them...

How long has she been laying? I had a mated queen in an apidea for 6 weeks. If only 3 frames in the apidea they will run out of room quickly I think. Can remove feeder and add another 2 frames, that will give them more room, or add a super on top? Otherwise make up a nuc or give her to a Q- colony.

It must be about four days. I ask because at my last inspection I thought I would have to re queen one of my hives but that hive is fine now. I have two more hives and a nuc which have no eggs or larvae so I am waiting a week to see if they have virgin queens or queen off lay because of extra hot weather.

That is a good idea. I could not figure how to keep the queen excluder in place. She was still there on Sunday.
