Number of Hives
Too many - but not nearly enough
Just seen it on Maisie Moore's website - massive sale day only at their shop on Saturday 30th June Just shows the usual Hive parts on the flyer. But there may be more there - I heard they took a bit of a hit at the National convention.
Their jumbo feeders had dropped another pound to 16 there and not that many shifted - maybe they'll have been reduced again?

Just happened to see the advert on their website I heard they took a lot of stuff back with them from the convention, so if any one still needs to spend more money.............

To me it looked like they'd brought a lot more stock along to their larger stand. that and the fact that (lectures aside) there didn't seem to be as many people compared with year before, no wonder they were left with stock. plus you have to factor in price of sets of runners on top of their prices, so the big T will come out on top for 2nds of the commonly used stuff.

I think we're all agreed the sales should have run on two or more days - many had to miss lectures to shop...

"many had to miss lectures to shop.."

unless sat waiting for 1/2 hr many missed the lectures anyway (even if they did have a full smart).

apparently that bevel they have on the side panels are meant to be in lieu of runners if you leave them you don't get full bee space so you have to plane them off if you want to use metal runners (I have just found:mad:

Commercial advertising??

Not connected to me in the slightest - just alerting fellow beeks to the possibility of bargins - got mine in the autumn sales (see above comment!)

Not what I heard, I heard that Maisey is your mum....:)

Actually my Gran was called Maisie! The problem at the moment is that there's no more room in the chamber of secrets maybe when the roof blew off I should have added a second storey:D

Commercial advertising??
ffs - if Mrs Maisey Moore had posted here then that would be advertising, instead someone has put up a link to a useful way of buying cheap kit in the south.

Have today received a small parcel of flatpack 'seconds' from CWJ.
And each bundle of bits, and every pack of nails, was labelled T...

Perhaps its because they are agents for Th**nes.

Was it cheaper than Thorrnes
More expensive than show and 'sale' prices - the only times I've seen T's offer seconds.
But I would not have been cheaper to travel to the Convention. And unfortunately the local attendees that I know, were not in a position to act as carriers - one full car and one rail user.
