Maybe they want you to squeeze this onto the label?

Definition of “honey” and different types of honey
2.—(1) In these Regulations “honey” means the natural sweet substance produced by Apis
mellifera bees from the nectar of plants or from secretions of living parts of plants or excretions of
plant-sucking insects on the living parts of plants which the bees collect, transform by combining
with specific substances of their own, deposit, dehydrate, store and leave in honeycombs to ripen
and mature.

Honey (England) Regulations 2015

Maybe you should direct them to the above and remind them the the fact you have put Honey on the label means that it has been produced by honeybees!

Major supermarkets also say this on their labelling but testing suggests it isn't pure honey....

I have been working on a label for 'Pete' and I have to post this, he sent the label to trading standards asking them to check it. This is one of their recommendations:

Can you please advise what is the source of the honey?

In order to ensure the labelling is not misleading regarding the source of the honey, it is recommended the source of the honey is stated – you could state ‘produce of honey bees’ for example if this is the source?
Has anyone else had to put this on a label?
Typical unnecessary bureaucracy and idiocy. I would be tempted to play them at their own game and ask questions seeking clarification regarding the honey regulations, definitions and the ambiguity of their response. Waste of time of course but might might elicit some fun answers, or get you branded as a troublemaker.

I would be tempted to ask what other sources of honey, other than honeybees, are available as it might be more lucrative farming those!

Some wasp produce honey, mainly Mexico/SA regions.
It's considered a delicacy.

The finished product.

The tamper evident labels arrived today so this is the finished article.

Many many thanks to nantmoel or Brian for all his hard work and excellent advice. Not to mention the speedy delivery despite the couriers attempts at cocking it all up.

Remember its the label that sells your honey and the jar content that generates the repeat business.

Thanks again Brian.

I’m sure he has. Why wouldn’t he? He designs labels for a living.
I’ve used stock images on my labels. They are cheap enough. Shutterstock let you have five images for less than thirty quid.

In that case they will be fine.
Or if not, fined... ;)

I though the image used was very striking and familiar.
And am hoping it isn't plagiarism but has been acquired with a genuine licence from adobe. As you say they are cheap enough.
Why anyone would wish to complain about me asking a simple question that may save someone from future legal action is rather puzzling.
My comment was intended as humorous....hence the winking smiley.

The stock image does not look identical to the label image anyway.

Good to know that PH is happy with the service and recommends it.

I saw a complaint about the Beefriendly's unfriendly post, but it didn't break rules so Dani left it there. As far as I can tell there has not so far been a breach of the "No Advertising" rule either.

Other labelling services and honeys are available :D

Thank you for pointing out that the image used is not identical, firstly I either trace/draw a vector of almost every image I use (quality reasons), I changed the image to PH requirements.
