Worth noting that Keld has been selecting for hygienic behavior in his Buckfast. I don't know how much progress he has made.

Has anyone on this forum purchase queens for Keld Brandstup, any feedback would be welcome.

Queens from this breeder, have arrived at different times in Ireland. I am not aware of any negative comments and on at least two occasions known to me there were repeat imports. Was this individual not one of those to whom Br.A. sent some stock in his later years?

I just read that, such a lovely man

Many years ago, I had Buckfasts from both Br Adam and Peter Donnovan. I regret that I didn't get to know either of them better. I always found them both very nice to deal with.
Its a pity that I didn't have the equipment to perform instrumental insemination at the time because the bees were very nice to handle. Unfortunately, the first generation of open mated queens were very aggressive when mated to the local drones.
Ged Marshall (Buckinghamshire) has imported quite a few of Kelds queens over the years

I did notice the Ged uses them for his breeding stock. Thanks for the reply

Yes I use them, they seem very good. I've also had lots of Ged's queens in the past which are very good too. All calm and very productive.

The island mated ate very good and you'll get your money back in honey, nucs and queens if you breed from them. The random mated are still good, gentle and productive. Worth getting some, but don't restrict yourself to just this breeder, there are plenty of good ones out there

Looking forward to raising a few queens from her this season, hopefully all my homework on Keld's island mated queens will 'pay-off'.

Buying a good Buckfast queen and hoping her open mated daughters will be consistent or good suggests to me that you haven't done your homework.
