Hi everyone, I'm leaving today and I'll be gone for two weeks so yesterday I inspected the hives and the bee are doing quite well. But here's the problem: the supers I'm planning to extract are not full yet but as many of you have noticed ivy is about to flower. I check yesterday along a footpath and it will probably flower soon.. What should I do? Is a little bit of ivy nectar so bad?

With 4 colonies you could remove the capped honey to extract on your return, and let the bees fill the supers with the ivy nectar... may even sell at a premium.. after all the foul tasting Mankie stuff does!

Sold all of mine for £5.50 a lb so hope there's a flow this year as I have sold out
