Hi,

I would like to take a "deep" framed super off and store the frames in a sealed bucket for a week or two as I am waiting to borrow an extractor. I need the deep box. Would this harm the honey ? I intend to keep the bucket in a cool place until I can take the other shallow supers off for extraction.

Thank you.

Shudderdun.

where about's are you?
i am liverpool might be able to help you out with a spare box.

I assume the honey is capped. In which case, if bees can store it over the winter without problem, surely it ought not to be a problem for you to store it for a fairly brief time. Your problem will be to make store it in a way that won't leave it vulnerable to robbing.

The clear plastic storage boxes sold by various diy and household shops are useful if they are large enough. Not air tight but insect proof enough to keep robbers out.
