Hi all.

I've been contacted by a member of the public in a rented accommodation who has bees in a wall cavity.

Her landlord won't allow any removal of bricks or plaster at all and has just come around and blocked up entrance holes. However the bees have found a way out each time.

Is there a way I can get the bees out of the wall without damaging it?

Was thinking of possibly putting a box over the entrance with frames in and hope the queen moves up into it maybe?

Hold fire

Have been sent the picture I requested. Looks like a masonry bee to me.

Yes the pic is of a solitary bee, they cause no issues and I have the same on my house as they are using old rawl plug holes. Non of mine penetrate the cavity and they won't like a large open cavity.

Inform the tenant they are harmless, I have often photographed mine and watch very closely they don't sting and will wait for one to move or fly around to get to the hole.
