I was very lucky in 1987 when I bought the farm (It's a smallholding now really, as we only 12 acres) that the MF 135 was thrown in with the sale as deadstock. Dudley we call it because of reg no, DUD 191C was purchased by the previous farm owner (Sir Reginald Rootes of the car giant) for this farm in 1965 and it has been here ever since. Interestingly we only found out recently by its original purchase docs and old green log book that it was one of the first built.

It's not just Dudley that's looking tired, the whole farm needs work. Dudley is all original and looks worse than he is but a restoration job is planned, we are gathering all the genuine bits to do him up.

You'll never replicate that patina though!! My grandfather has one the same - right down to the front loader and it is a similar age - it was one of the first sold in Northern Ireland and I have grown up driving it. It received a new engine for its 45th birthday.
