Forecast does not look good, just been outside and the winds are pretty strong with heavy rain.

Particularly along the south coast, met office says "Be Prepared"

Expect a few of us will be checking the hives in the morning.

Gusts of 70 to 80mph are likely, especially near the south coast.

Not so bad here in Tayside. The gales have moved on now anyway.

One of my chicken coops is in the field next door smashed to bits, luckily no hens in it at the time, and the garden shed is on its side.

Hives OK as I went out in the gale to add extra concrete blocks to the roofs.

Only 1 hive affected, the roof was blown off. No other damage luckily, other than getting the car stuck in mud and having to have it winched out last night (but that's another story).

Aaaghh. Wind and rain in the soft South too! Must have tiles off the roof -or something - woken to water dripping onto the bed - I hate going in the loft- it is in 2 distinct areas and I have to go round corners to where I think this trouble is. Light poor and torch only lights the bit I shine on - hope any squirrels are dead ones - and I don't put a foot through the ceiling. - and all that insulation... I feel itchy already.
