Would you recommend hofmann or manley for the heather?

I'll be taking one hive as a trial and have enough foundation for 1 x unwired and 1 x thin.

For cut comb then Manley.

Do not use drawn wired comb unless you have access to both a loosner and a tangential extractor.

Good luck

Ok quick heather extraction lesson.

Heather is thixotropic by nature which means it is a jelly naturally. It NEEDS to be agitated to turn it temporarily to a liquid.

It needs a tangential extractor though to get it out as there is not enough oomph in a radial to shift it.

It is commonly delt with by pressing, however obviously the comb is lost and if you are going to lose the comb why not sell in the comb for the premium price?
