What do you think?
I would like to be able to keep my favourite/most useful threads easy to find.
Would you?

Yes

No

Why bother, why not just save as favourites on pc?

Did you forget to press the "poll" button? :)

There's some really valuable stuff and a lot of errrrm less useful posts.

And some stuff I don't yet need but would love to have in reserve.

I find the "search" function is too undiscriminating in such a huge site.

To be able to have my own personal 'stickies' would be great.

You can already save them.

Use "thread tools", which is near the top of each thread, in the blue bar on the right, just beneath the page numbering bit.
Click "subscribe".
You then get a list of your "subscribed" threads, you can have an email if they're updated, or not - whichever you prefer.

An alternative to the built in search is to use Google but confine the results to just this forum.

site:beekeepingforum.co.uk "search this exact phrase" -butnotthis

In your search box, Google recognises a forum pretty well heading them with number of posts and so on. You can use all the Google refinements which are worth knowing for any search:

Bing and other search tools have equivalents.

Yep, well no, didn't know I had to, assumed it would be simpler:.)

I know - I just keep forgetting to save them

Presumably all we need is a telepathic-PC.

a) That "knows" when we want to do a poll.
b) That "knows" when we might want to save/bookmark something.

Should be easy enough......... NOT

You can also use your web browser to bookmark links to your favourite threads.

I notice this poll is due to close today.

Just wonder, Admin, what thoughts you have about this?

I speak as one who would like to be able to save particular posts (as distinct from threads).

But, at this moment, there's not a massive wave of support for the idea.

Dusty.
