I had this idea in my head for a long time, hard bit is to weld the pipes to be waterproof. cost - stockpot from tesco £12, bucket from BQ £1. floor mesh in the buket. brown bowl sits nicely in the bucket as a lid.1 hour of welding., Little pot underneath with water gives the steam. works really well.

Interesting design although I would put a valve in the out flow pipe. Is there a way of filtering the pollen?

the mesh keeps only the biggest rubbish out, the outflow is a bit higher than the bottom of the stockpot so most of the rubbish stays in the pot and the wax flows out pretty clean. there are loads of things to improve, this one is just a prototype :)

wax melter,

made a honey warming cabinet from an old fridge.use a boiler thermostat and 2 /100 watt bulbs to supply heat.by putting the wax /comb in fine stocking in kitchen flour sieve suspended over container underneath to catch melted wax,
pictures supplied if anyone interested
