I personally use travel screens too, but I think it's very unusual here to use travel screens. I find bees seem to produce tremendous heat when moved and locked up. Incredible actually.

I find it perplexing that the bees leave the ventilation screen holes open when they are on the exterior.

With most of mine having poly roofs, I have been moving away from cover boards and using a plastic sheet or nowt. Bees seem to do fine and its one less bit of kit to worry about.

I can remember my grandad using lilo instead of crown boards.
