Bee euthanasia ??

Could you not kill the bees with the sulphur strips you get for wax moth? Then the hive would not be contaminated.

I don't know the only experience i have of killing off bees was when bought a nuc infected with efb and had kill it off. That was 15 years ago so maybe things have moved on .
 
I still see no valid reason for killing these bees.
 
Half tempted to urge you to unite them into a 6frame nuc and I'll come pick them up next time I pass by your neck of the woods!

No, it's not - you know it and I know it - and there's no logic in killing the whole colony when culling one will do the job.

But since the OP seems to have made his mind up to kill, the less explosive option seemed better to offer.

Again, - but - I'm a newbie to bees so don't know if it would work anyway.

And even as a newbie I would re-queen as a first solution.
