me either. But I use low hive stands in summer, that the whole hive is not too high.

How tall do you think from hive floor to crown board on a mega-finny-flow?

Moles will never be a problem to me..:spy: and my hive or two is also sat ontop of a nicley leveled 2x2ft paving stone.

Wow - now that is seriously impressive - any chance of a close-up/ diagram/ whatever of those traps ? I've been trying to eliminate my little furry 'friends' (some friends ...) using a couple of old-fashioned traps - the sort that look a little bit like gin-traps - but they don't work too well, as the little sods push a mound of earth in front of them - just like bulldozers - and thus set the trap off.

If they have started back filling (plugging) your trap you need a Talpex type of trap like these which are fired from upward force as apposed to side entry force, i will find a half sensible video of how to set them and a link from where to buy them cheap.
I will PM you them if you prefer as i will start getting slagged of for hijacking a thread..:D

Although it's starting to get somewhat macabre.

Here is a cheap version but they do work, make sure there is no stones and always trigger it of in the position you set them to make sure the jaws close tight, make the hole as tight as possible and make sure the jaws go either side of the tunnel so the mole feels no metal.

Here is the best quick video i can find, it is not how i set them but it should work, you can ring me if you have any problems.

Those legs!

It looks like the photo was taken at the very moment it started falling over!

The photo from 5 seconds later is utter carnage!
