Whenever I go to RHS Wisley I get dragged through the shop so spend my time looking at the honey products. This time there were plenty of Raw honeys for sale but this label caught my eye.

I was there a couple of weeks ago ... some extraordinary labels on some of the honey on sale ! I didn't notice that one - must be a new supplier.

Their shop and garden centre is massive since they did all the rebuilding and relocation work. I love the place and it's worth the RHS membership just for the three or four trips we do there each year. I was a bit disapppointed that the old allotment area has gone temporarily and some of the other regular gardens seem to have disappeared pending being established elsewhere in the garden. It should be nice when they have finished ...

I agree Phillip. Each time we go we tend to go to different areas. We went to the arboretum today and had a look at the apiary. I couldn't see that anyone has looked at these for a while as the grass didn't look disturbed at all.

Hand harvested, Perhaps they are milking the little buzzers,
Their site says:

"Hand harvested natural honey from The Secret Herb Garden, Scotland. At The Secret Herb Garden, we are passionate about all things bees, from our bee observatory and school to our 40 hives. We use no chemicals whatsoever on the grounds so this makes the honey made by our bees 100% natural and delicious".
-But it seems that honey is a sideline, and their main product is hand-harvested gin (what?) see here.

Everything is hand harvested. Busy bunch…

"We use no chemicals whatsoever in the grounds"....not even soap before the hand harvesting?

And we run guided tours of the premises - but no hand sanitiser?

Mines hand harvested ,I'm the one who has to operate the cappings knife and also the switch for the DC E- extractor.

IMHO The only businesses I can think of that can legitimately claim to use the term 'hand harvested'

Are sperm banks
During a period when I worked for a company called Pozzolanic based in Chester they had offices above a cattle AI company. Apparently they had fibreglass cows back ends with integral Collection vessels and long sleeved rubber gloves. Not sure if that counts as hand harvesting.😀
