Have you actually seen this Cazza and if so what Orchid is it?

It certainly isn't all of them, I have 6 types of Orchid on our land all around the hives and have never seen such a thing.

Chris

I've seen it as a specimen collected by an orchid grower. I can't recall what type of orchid but I'm sure it was a tropical species not a European Orchid.

Yes I know Storch doesn't say, that's why I was asking Cazza who appeared to have seen it judging by their post. Also as part of my general naturalist activities I've never come across it myself having observed a fair number of orchids when flowering.

Just interested, it would be good to know.

Chris

Just trying to be helpful.

You know, it used to be a pleasant forum at one time. I'm considering not bothering coming on here anymore, I know who the people are who are decent to me, if I need any advice in future, I'll just message them privately. Answering questions instead of just asking was actually giving me confidence and not everyone has read Storch. I am not a mind reader.

Such a shame, as I have learnt a lot for here, but just recently I find myself afraid to post in case one of these new types jumps on me. My thanks to those who have supported me in my journey. You know who you are xx

Come on Kaz, please don't take the hump! We'd miss you if you went.

If you read Chris's post with a cheerful intonation pattern in your head, it doesn't look nearly so gruff.

Calm calm. We've all had brickbats thrown at us, the gods here more than most.
Don't go away and remember there is no such thing as a stupid post. If you reserve your questions to PMs we will all miss out. Just imagine if everybody did that

It's just peoples tones seem to be getting more snipy lately. I come online to socialise and speak with people who are likeminded and enjoy the same things I do. It's just not fun anymore. I love this forum, but I get enough aggro in real life, I don't need it extending to the internet too.

Granted I may be a little more sensitive than usual today for other reasons, but I've been feeling this way for a while. :(

You seem to have a case of the gloomies Kaz - You know who the helpful kind members are, you also know who gets up your nose soooo......

Read the friendlies and SKIP the unfriendlies

Yeah, you are probably right lol. I've had someone have a bit of a go at me yesterday, so i'm probably feeling a bit defensive if I'm honest. I would have usually just ignored that.....like water off a ducks back. I'm kind of feeling sorry for myself, ganged up on a bit I suppose lol. Bit of a drama queen strop, suppose I'm allowed the odd one.

Sorry Lance for hijacking your thread. It has been decided I have had a bit of an over reaction......ignore me and carry on :)

Steady on lass or I'll 'stitch your knickers to your vest' :)
Stay just where you are , hang your feelings up with your mouse and hit back , subtlety is for dinner parties ;).

You're a breath of fresh air , we all need fresh air :)

I have to say Kaz, in your defence, I felt the same as you did, so don't blame yourself for being moody when you weren't. You reacted exactly as I would.
There are one or two people on this forum who are so inflated with their own importance. We can all boast qualifications in one thing or another. I thought it disrespectful the way you were answered. Please don't Kowtow to this sort of pompous behaviour. I call it cyber bullying. The perpetrators of which are usually very ineffectual in real life. I'm qualified to say this. (Really!)

Having a go at someone you have become friendly with and doing it in a humorous way is obvious. Blatant rudeness is another. All the questions you ask are questions I would also ask. I also find your ongoing situation with school bees very interesting. Most people here are absolutely fantastic people. Others are so eager to exhibit some kind of superiority its sick making. Fortunately, as forums go there are so few they are not worth losing your cool over. I really don't think anyone would disagree with this.

Robin. :lurk5:

Well I can't go round with my knickers stitched to my vest now can I? Most uncomfortable lol, so I will just have to steady myself.

Thanks VM :)

Thank you Robin. I didn't know whether I had over reacted or not tbh. After the few days I've had, it is possible I could have thrown a wobbly. I couldn't stop visiting this forum anyway, I'd have had to sneak on :p

Kaz, If you overreacted, then I did as well. I would love to really get verbal about this particular point, but I don't want to get banned. I lurked here for long enough before actually posting anything. I also think you are a breath of fresh air. Its not acceptable to decry, or belittle anyone. You were being helpful. The response you got was downright rude. This is a very rare occurrence as I'm sure you know. I hope there won't be any further repercussions from that particular person. You have enough supporters here, and we have a terrific moderator. :cheers2: Have a beer me dear.:)

I agree, it should be forgotten. I should have just let it go. I'm feeling a little defensive if I'm honest, so it probably came at the worst time really. I very rarely respond in these situations as I dislike confrontation of any kind. Even as remote as this. It makes me feel sick tbh.

I shall take that beer now......and pass Lance his thread back.

I can't apologise enough Lance. I hope you find out what those spots are, and if you do, then let me know, just in case I don't catch the answer :)

That's what I was thinking Rosie, it's just started flowering here too. I imagine there will be plenty of forage though to last them through autumn. They are city bees with local gardens, on an allotments, and nestled between two large public parks. Happy bees :)
