4 were spotted, two captured quickly and the other two being unable to deal with being in the wild were found dead.
All four were recaptured. They were starving. One died after capture
You’re right. There are some remarkably stupid people out there.
One of the foxes shot dead not too far away from me had surgical hardware its leg!!!!!

Spent today at RHS Wisley admiring the daffs, snowdrops, primroses, winter aconites, hellebores and witch hazels.
The sarcococca and edgeworthia are not quite out enough to send their heady perfume out yet but they will in a week or so.
If anyone is considering going I would recommend going on a weekend when the A3 is closed at jct 10 of the M25 as it was so quiet my wife and I felt that we were in a private garden as we walked about. We have never seen it so deserted!

many years ago I shot quite a few released urban foxes in my garden (they were causing havoc locally) two of them had only three legs - with obvious evidence that the fourth one had been surgically removed.
I lived in Teddington
how the other half live ;) I used to visit there often - taking controlled drugs and other evidence to the Government Chemist, those were the days, travelling all the way up the M4, foot to the floor, exceeding the speed limit and being waved on by any traffic plod who tucked in behind us hoping for an easy ticket.

Government Chemist,
Yes Bushy Park. Used to walk the dogs there and Tom Bickerdike looked after hives either there or in the grounds of NPL.
Funny coincidences in life.
Before I got a car I used to take the train up to Glasgow University. Stan’s family lived in a railway cottage by the West Coast line. As an 18/19 year old I might well have whizzed past a 13/14 year old future husband holding a baby sister to wave at the train. 🚂

seen them flowering every year on new year's day outside the chapel in Bethlehem when we're out hunting, even in the snow, but as my hunting days are now done I wasn't up there this year to see them.
The snowdrops popped out in the garden and front lawn today with us and there's loads of primroses flowering.
What were you hunting? Just realised sorry it was a fox!!

That’s where Two Ton Ted lived, I think. Did you swoon at his hot mince pies?
(Really showing my age here….).

My wife had Juniors' Choice on at Christmas and they played that. Must be the first time I've heard it in years. Still makes me laugh. I think it was his macaroons she swooned at (nearly) though.

He did and his TV shows were filmed at Teddington studios ( now demolished) He was a lonely old man manipulated by his producer who was a real creep!

I love Wisley. Used to visit a lot when I lived in Teddington.
We love Wisley ... RHS member so it's free apart from the £3.00 a cup coffee and £4.75 cake ... they do walkies at Wisley from March to September and we take the dog for an evening stroll around the gardens with hundreds of other dog walkers. It also costs us for a pupaccino or a Scoops doggy ice cream as well then - Spark won't pass the restaurant by the glasshouse until he's had his treat !

The RHS are suffering, the mess with Junction 10 has decimated their visitor numbers and they are facing significant loss of revenue.

Happy days... Used to visit Wisley when we lived near Wokingham. Even once met Rachel de Thame there completely unexpectedly, not long after she'd started doing television I think.

These days Rosemoor is closer and an enjoyable visit, but it's a bit of a slog to get to.

James
