What did you do in the 'workshop' today

Have you been watching Frank Howarth @frankmakes on YT, PH? He uses what he calls 'french cleats', these 45deg hooks. Seriously envious of his workshop.

Last night I found a YT video of someone renovating the table saw I just bought, or one very like it. It's sometimes worth scanning down to page 6 of a Google search.

Sort of local. Stamford which is just Lincolnshire. Around me that tunnel would be below the water table. . . . . Ben

Went on a 2 day practical course some years ago now and a young guy who'd had to get up really early each day to get there grumbled that he could have learnt the same on YouTube.
Amazing the skills you can see before trying on-line.

My sister and her family live not far from him in Stamford. I seem to recall her mentioning seeing the huge christmas tree he put in his house.

With the increased and better use of Zoom and other applications for the dissemination of beekeeping information that seemed to really gather momentum through the covid lockdowns, it now seems a bit pointless and empty to turn up at an association meeting to watch a speaker do a live talk from hundreds of miles away.

Some people have an aptitude and the confidence to learn things without necessarily needing one-to-one instruction or hands-on experience.
I am aware that many people would exclude beekeeping from the possibility above.

Took the opportunity to top up my reserve store of built brood frames, I'll probably knock up a few bundles more later on, then top up my flatpack stash at the spring conventions

Moved the two hives from our back garden to an out-apiary. When checking the inspection board on one of the hives, these were in the corner of the board. Anyone knows what these are?

Looks like some kind of insect poo, a beetle or grub of some description?
Any signs of damage to the comb in that area?
It's going to be warm enough (15c)to take a look on Tuesday I believe.

If there was a rodent inside there would be wax shreds all over the inspection tray. I suspect something has been feasting on the debris dropped through the OMF and the odd dead bee that's got under there

I have just turned a couple of BB into 3x 3 frames + 1x 2frames nucs which will be used as mating nucs. Partition is made of 3mm ply sliding into a groove so that I can turn them into a 5 and 6 frames nucs to overwinter.

Been painting paradise honey jumbo langstroth poly b boxes yesterday and today, they recommend 3 or 4 coats, luckily the weather held out and it was nice enough to do it outside while watching the hive and the nuc coming and going. Bright orange and pale yellow pollen coming in.
I did get crapped on by a bird however so i bought a lottery ticket for tonight
