Trying to. Its only a box and a window with hd tin foil. Floor boards from neighbor and window from skip . Grrrrrr . Will try on big tablet after doing supers

My single hive is brood and a half and the half was on top. On Saturday I inspected the top half brood and found it was nearly all stores with the brood in the full box, so I switched them around, checked the OMF while I was at it (clean) and left them with a QE and a super on top

Put some Danish oil on a new cedar hive I put together at the weekend. Still have all the frames as well as two supers to assemble.

A week ago I put a new small 6-frame colony that I bought into its new position. I took some bricks to put the hive on, but the grass was taller than I remembered so I made a note to get me a hive stand as soon as I can. The colony was in a borrowed box, so two days ago I went back and hung the frames over into a hive of my own (two 5-frame boxes stacked). Yesterday I made the hive stand, and today I replaced the bricks with the hive stand. I did not look in the box today. When I hung in the frames two days ago, my smoker wouldn't work, so I had to do it quickly with a cloud of agitated bees.

Here's a film of the flight opening (bricks):

Why did you switch the half to bottom and then put the QE and another super on top?

Or have I misread?

Added supers to eight out of nine hives. No. 9 was wintered on a double national brood after an Autumn unite and has been slower to develop than the others. There is sealed brood though so I hope she'll pull through.

First Artificial Swarm of the year.
After I found the fourth QC, I decided that the safe thing to do was to treat as though swarm cells ... perhaps I really should have given them a second super last week, even though there is no OSR within reach of the bees.
Heigh-ho.

Now, that is scary!

Watched plenty of big drones flying from my hives for the first time today - gotta love those guys with their 'flying goggle' eyes and deep buzzy tones!

Took a set of spare kit to my out apiary in anticipation of needing to do an AS sometime soon. Although on checking, I only saw 12 empty play cups in one hive and 4 in the other so no need to act just yet.

Moved one of my hives early this morning to a new site and I have been offered a hive of bees as the person is giving up beekeeping and wants me to have the bees. So following an inspection tomorrow afternoon may move them Friday evening to the new site. The good news is the new site is 15 min walk from my small workshop.

As this new site is slap bang in the center of Brentford and coincidentally has a pub called the beehive, but importantly Brentford football club is known as the bees I am thinking I may be able to sell some honey to the bees from the bees at Brentford bee-smillie

Brings back memories. I used to drink in the beehive. I used to work in The London Buttterfly house

Had a peek through the crown board. They are very slow to draw out the frames in the super but the weather isn't playing nicely.
I had to turn the super so the frames lined up with the brood box.
Initially i had put it on at 90 degrees to the frames so they didn't build brace comb , instead they started building comb at 90 degrees to the frames in the super.
Why they just can't do what i want is beekeeping i guess.

2 Queens marked ....oh joy :)
Both brood boxes 7 frames of brood and one had a lot of drone at the bottom of one frame.
All frames in dire straits....one had wire dangling down from it so clipped it off and put large elastic band round bottom.
Will start Bailey on these two tomorrow.

Wooden hive has 2012 queen and is a bit behind.
Put a test frame in last poly and will probably unite with the wooden one in a few days.
