again not bee related but just heard that the OH tumble dried a cat this morning.

only 5 mins luckily - Piggle is shaken and bruised but ok.

given the occupation density (upto 28 in 56m2) it was bound to happen sometime despite best efforts.

oh and saturday night i had a mouse nibble my scalp. eventually caught it - was able to squeeze under a door that i couldn't get a pencil under. perhaps it's time to mouse guard the house.

You have 28 cats, and mice? :svengo:

Tom Seeley was excellent, especially liked his first talk. I bought way too many books (mostly older ones but a box full!!) and a pile o f bits I probably don't need :rolleyes: Enjoyed the second day, just Sat now...and then home. 8hr drive to work out how to hide books from wife...

Kindle version is £55 from Amazon but you can get the preface and part of first chapter free from there.

The Wisdom of the Hive by Prof Tom Seeley,
an eye watering £80:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
The bookseller apologised for the price!

I hope that you hunted the author out and requested that he sign your purchase...

Ent down and had a look. The two main hives had a few bees going in and out, only two wopsies seen and they got their heads kicked in:) The wee nuc is still hanging on as well bless it.

I have been practicing a non kill policy with wasps this year. That's despite having a nest in my house eaves. My bees have not particularly been bothered by them - strong hives, small entrances.

Result - a holier than thou feeling of extreme sickmaking piety.:Angel_anim::puke:

Hi, I'm building a shed close to my hives so I can keep all my beekeeping equipment in it and have it in the one place instead of shuttling it back and forward. I also took the time to watch they bees flying into my two hives and was thankful for their lovely honey they shared with me.
