Tried a brush one and found I was quicker with a heated knife, but can get tiring on the wrist.

Someone will be along to recommend a heat gun, tried it, liked it, but still needed a knife every now and then to straighten up combs, so have stuck with the knife.

Try uncapping a large number of frames with a knife and you get tennis-elbow.
Here is a nice one from Greece:

If this isn't up to your liking then just search for uncapping machine on Youtube and you will see many videos.

I agree, I think in time i will swap the knife for a machine if I build up again, currently have no problem uncapping 100 supers in a day but as time goes on I think I might have to re-think.

looking for something a bit more compact to be honest than the full extracting lines, keep the replies coming. I had problems with my elbows and wrists last year after uncapping so looking for something to help (apart from the father in law lol)

Just found a side liner uncapper looks good apart from price

veg, did you see the utube clip of a uncapping knife mounted on a wooden frame which the frame slides along trimming of the cappings ... looks fast cleen and easy... will try and hunt down the link but pretty sure Finman posted the link some time ago on here aswell

Borrowed a vibrating heated-blade uncapper for a season; worked well but noisy. Still needed a knife/fork for under-drawn combs. Fast for well-drawn combs. Had a tendency to caramelise on the cutting blade if left heating whilst attending to other machinery/processes. Excellent for Manleys with wide bottom bars.

Have a flail uncapper now. Good and fast, still noisy (coming to the conclusion that all mechanised uncappers are!), but the flails nibble at Hoffman or Manley sidebars. Simple job to disable the relevant blades. Needs a quick spanner job to adjust for different frame standards hence best to batch boxes.

Still keep a simple heated uncapping tray and non-heated knife and uncapping fork to hand so that oddities can be quickly dealt with.

Swienty also stock the Dakota type (or an equivalent) mentioned above - and guess what, that's noisy too ;)

yes thanks but I like my fingers attached to my hands lol one slip with that....

I have mailed the bushy mountain people to see what size frames it will work with. I do know someone with a brush uncapper but he still uses a knife so they cant be much good.

Thanks Danbee more to look at now

Think I am going to go for the Lega uncapping machine and tank I have had a good price on them, very much like the first pic danbee posted.

Do you mind if I ask where you're sourcing it from Veg?

that is an interesting idea it similar to a
a"mandolin" used for slicing vegetables.

Looking at that you have to push with quite a of of force one slip and who knows what will get chopped off lol
