I make my own hives from scratch using reclaimed wood and pallets. Jointing is easy. Dowels , glue clamp. Then cut to width. (essential to cut to width after joining as widths may change with gluing).

You do need a cheap table saw.

A National is a pia.. A Langstroth much easier. (Butt joint ends and screw)
