It has, just seen on the news that over 700 pedophiles have been identified in this country.... and they are still alive, i think they should be turned into bio fuel.

Tbats a better idea than carpeting our green and pleasant land in useless wind turbines. "From now on this family is off the grid and will live life intermittently " Homer Simpson.

Well the bees are fine this morning in spite of last nights horrendous weather. We have got a 50 foot conifer laying on our house roof though............... Merry Christmas everyone!

Tim, mate I feel for you....sorry!
Our local river is in full flood, we have a small brook that runs down the hill past our house which is a raging torrent, luckily it can't flood our house but I feel for those who are going to be flooded again this Christmas
Good luck Tim, hope you were insured and told them there were trees near your house!!!

Best of luck everybody with awful weather.
Have just read of a man drowning in the Rothay ( my old stamping ground in the Lakes) trying to rescue his dog............
Though it has been windy we have largely escaped so far.
Our satellite signal is intermittent but hey.....we might end up talking to each other :)

Off to make a nice boozy trifle for pud tonight :) :)

Hi All
Just been on a tour of my apiaries. One WB hive at home had been struck by a branch but no damage. One out apiary OK. The other apiary a disaster. All the empty hives had been strewn over an area. Some were 30ft from there place. One occupied hive had lost its roof and crown board. 2 inches of water in the upturned roof. here were one or two soggy bees sat on the frames. I did not investigate further as I hade no bee suit. I replaces the crown board. honey capping food and roof and I am just hoping for the best. Hey Ho!!!! Why is it always me???

What's all the fuss about !
Quite nice here in the tropics :)

Seriously I feel for the poor souls affected.

Currently moored on the river brent only rose by twenty inches last night and the level is carefully managed by the environment agency so with a bit of slack on the ropes safe enough to leave and head north for Christmas. The wind is nice it helps to rock you to sleep but when it's that strong to noisy.

Lancashire is entirely free of warnings .how odd!

Lost part of our house roof and garage roof, they wont be able to do anything until after the new year so will probably lose the rest in the next forecast storm on Friday.

not worried as we are insured. Oh and the bees are ok.

really sorry to hear that. thought my shed roof disappearing was bad, hope the insurance honors their side of the deal

Heck, both nasty things to happen. I sincerely hope the insurers are fair and that the insides of your homes stay dry.

We got away lightly, but one of our neighbours needs to have a chimney stack looked at urgently because it's leaning and could end up in our front garden.

Thats bad news.,. how much has gone.?

About 1/3rd of the garage roof, cant find it anywhere must have ended up some distance away.

House roof maybe 1/10th, problem is its on the prevailing wind part so will more likely lose more on Friday, plus some of the tiles are just under the flat roof so if the wind gets under that and it goes we will be watching the stars.

Commiserations .... not great just before Christmas for you regardless of insurance. Seems like Sussex really caught the brunt of the storm ... same thing happened in the October '87 one. We had a real blow here in South Hampshire but sounds nothing compared to what Sussex suffered.

Sorry to hear about your storm troubles guys, hope you all get a decent Christmas despite your current circumstances.
We lost a tree at work in the last storm, thankfully not onto buildings. In the home apiary 1 hive over and a number of bricks/lids tossed about. We seem to have got away lightly so far.

Looks like it hits Friday morning straight across the channel

Can you get hold of tarpaulin, rope and sheet ply to fother the holes and prevent further lifting?
