In 2015 I was in Worcester. We had supper in Worcester...at a pub named Talbots. They had three brews...This, That, T'Other. Funny the things we remember.
Anyway, with the Morris Dancers practicing in the back room with their staffs, I sat across from the area SBI. Her husband sat next to me. He related to me how they have set up their teaching apiary. A group of 5 beekeepers get nucs and install in a circle apiary. They and their mentor take the bees through the first year. Through the second year. The third spring they take their bees home...with two years management under their belts. I thought this a brilliant approach to a teaching apiary. I wrote to the SBI but I never received a reply.
Does anyone here have more information on this? Have you participated? Have you mentored?
