STILL struggling with one hand!!

Bought some at Costco last week 77p

one of our beek members at horden, bought a pallet load and is selling to members at 45p kg

After googling 'cheap granulated sugar' It looks as if Aldi's is on par with Harrods!:ack2:

Not sure of the price but I will be getting my sugar from Sainsburys. I have been saving my nectar points up. (no pun intended)

I'd bee inclined to save the points and get sugar elsewhere! Sainsbury's price is about 90p IIRC

Sainsbury's have just increased the price of 5kgs from £3.99 to £4.49.

Asda are cheaper at £1.64/2kg

Is that cane or beet sugar .

beet has less carbon miles
cane growers put about myth that beet contained Barium neglecting to tell the great unwashed that cane was grown in land contaminated by arsenic from the Cornish & Devonian arsenic mines!

its all sucrose!:willy_nilly:

I didn't know sugar cane was (is?) grown as a crop in UK. I thought it was too cold.

don't think it matters nowadays does it - bees can handle either?

I was querying it not as for the bee health but for the possible economic reason. Assumed maybe the sugar was that cheap as it may have been beet.

The price rise in sugar may reflect the sugar beet harvest. Could be it suffered the same as potatoes did from all the rain earlier in the year. Beet may have rotted in the ground.
