beet has less carbon miles

My Honey must be high carbon all the travelling to an outer apiary, I don't think I will be putting that on the label lol :driving:

Tesco now 80p /kg
Asda 87p /kg

Would love to find 45p /kg!!

Id say so as I just got a 25kg bag of sugar for £19.49 which works out at 0.78p. Think i'll get this offer too then should keep me going for a bit.

the deal is only on until the 21st Aug so get it quick.

I didn't know sugar cane was (is?) grown as a crop in UK. I thought it was too cold.

even worse the arsenic was transported by coal burning ships to the Caribbean and Americas..... old carbon miles then?

Thinks: shall I spend £3 in diesel to travel to Bookers to save £1.25 on sugar.. Errr....:willy_nilly:

Well probably not no unless your passing =). I pass it everyday on the way to work so for me it's a no brainer. I've already got 25kg bag, but an extra 15 gives me a bit not have to worry about any this year depends how much winter feed they take :)

Got my special offer sugar from Bookers today. There was not a lot left even though the offer runs till 21st.

73p (ish) per kilo and I got 90k so I am pleased. Saved my nectar points for other stuff as advised on this thread. Party booze Hurrah!

90 kg (about a couple of hundredweight) seems like one helluva lot of sugar for one colony - even for three it has to be over the top.
Seems a lot to invest in stockpiling for a potential saving of what, 10p/kg so £9?

Sure you aren't stocking up that nuclear bunker, or getting heavily into homebrew??? ;)
