Sugar 59p per 1kg at Farmfoods, though this was a good price.

2 1kg bags for £1, 8th Oct at B & M stores.

That's a good price, Russel; probably because few of us are having to feed our bees.

Lovely day today.
Went round some friends' hives.
Most were crammed full of stores. And still being fed!

Just because its 'autumn' doesn't automatically mean that you need to feed.

Sugar can be stored easily enough, if you want to stock up at these bargain prices.

Bought a 25kg pack of sugar from Costco for 13.69 (no vat) works out 54.76p per kg.

Have found a place doing cane granulated sugar for 80cents per kg but im wanting to know is "cane" granulated just granulated sugar. I asked the girl behind the till but she was clueless as i am so i stuck to buying some granulated sugar at 1euro 8c in another store that didnt say cane on it:(

In costco today 15x1kg bags- £6.99. Works out at 4.6p per 100 gramme.

It's just sugar. Buy it.

Beet Sugar is commonly bleached with sulphites.
Granulated sugar made from beet is one of the items that people with Sulphite sensitivity should avoid. It sounds obscure, but is in the top ten list of allergens.

I personally only buy cane sugar. if it does not say it, I do not buy it....

I think your bees have more than enough stores by the sound of it

Only a brave person would say someone else's bees has 'enough' stores.

Currently 48p kg in 25 kg bags, free delivery and discount of 2% on this price for quick payment, plus extra dividend at end of year.

If you want british farmers to support british beekeepers then maybe we should support british farmers by buying british beet sugar.

Do you know any farmers that sell granulated white beet sugar, direct to beekeepers at cost price, or maybe exchange it for pollination services.
