I was going to use Cuprinol Duckback, I contacted the help desk and was told the new version of this treatment is not suitable for spray painting. I have a stack of supers, brood boxes etc which is over 8feet tall and would be easy to spray paint. Any suggestions of suitable paint, Cuprinol suggested their One Coat spray paint.

The Duckback is a thixotrophic jelly type paint....possibly not easily sprayable

I have spray painted both timber and polly hives with a water soluble ( for concrete) floor paint, quire successfully... had 20 litre drums from ebay ( Norther Ireland manufacture) quarter of price of Dulux/Cuprinol products... has lasted 5 winters so far!

I wish I had only one stack to paint! :(

big paintbrush, 3 coats. don't be shy and give it a good thick coat.

I give them a coat a week and only about 30-40 boxes at a time, so it does not make it too much of a chore.

make a stack about 5 foot tall and paint them as a stack. sometimes slightly worn boxes only need one coat.
