"I'd like one of those for my grave stone, but some xxxxxxxx would only steal it"

Not if BKF membership agreed to ensure that it was maintained full of the most aggressive bees that they could find!!!

I have a heather loosner for sale yes. PM me with a sensible offer if interested.

Why you need frames and foundation....LOL

Pollen Patty on frames.

Bernard preparing to load queenless broodless bees into Mini Nucs

The Stewerton Hive. Arguably beespace was recognised in Scotland pre Langstroth. :)

I am still awaiting a serious offer for the Loosner.

Just to give a wee heads up they sell for 3760 Euros new. That is some £3186

I will not say what I was offered but I am just a little offended.

He was. Very.

He told them how to improve the way they made foundation and very shortly after parted company...LOL I suspect they would have been wiser to have listened. ;)

He was some man, and a great beekeeper.

Fantastic and informative photos PH.
Good luck for the Op and a speedy recovery.

With reference to the skep bee keeping in Germany, I saw a video on the iwf site of that bee farmer (or one with the same setup) on how they dealt with swarming. Amazing to watch!
