Sea Water

Tap water is chlorinated/fluorinated and it takes a while for these halogens to dissipate. I just wondered if that might be the reason they avoid tap water.

Rain is a pretty good approximation to distilled water. Guttation is pretty close to RO water but carries risks.

Now that is a strong possibility. Might try 'degassing' some tap water and see if they will use it in preference to straight tap water.
(Yep, you can tell I'm bored this weekend!) LOL

Very surprising. I know spiders can taste with their feet, but bees as well. Wonder how many other creatures 'smell' with their feet?
