Principles of Bee Improvement by Jo Widdecombe is a good start for theory. A Northern Bee Books publication.

I think the most complete book on queen rearing and breeder selection is probably Queen Rearing and Bee Breeding by Rob Page and Harry Laidlaw...WicWas Press.
