It can be useful, just the fact that it is condensing on the ceiling rather than the walls or floors means that it could drip onto the cluster.
 
On the other hand.
Could the condensation actually be beneficial in some way to the colony during winter?
They would not need to go out for water to dilute their fondant stores as there is a ready supply on the ceiling.

That condensation on the ceiling will drip on the bees and it's usually recommended that we avoid our bees getting wet during the winter, hence the insulation over the crownboard. Let any condensation occur on the side walls.
