You probably need to stop drinking now .... you appear, tonight, to be as unintelligble as our Finnish contingent ...and in any case - Who pulled your chain ? I'm quite sure Beefriendly is quite capable of flushing his own toilet ...

Is there anyone you missed insulting here?

I love the level of intelligence moving in his head... Even 2 years old understand that poo humour.

Amen

Well ... sorry guys - as my sense of humour clearly goes way over the head of some people now monopolising this forum I think it's time that I followed a few other members who have tired of the few who seem to be intent on turning it into something that it wasn't when I joined a few years ago. I miss those former contributors and their intelligence, wit and in most cases sound advice - enjoy yourselves Millet, Beefriendly (or whatever your name really is) and Finnie - you've succeeded and I'm not going to be posting much from now on . Good luck to those who have found any benefit in my posts - PMs will still find me or there's a burgeoning face book group where you may find some old friends. Best regards to all bar a few. Phil

I think it's a sad day for all of us when people feel they can no longer post. I've seen this happen before. It has to stop.

The general tone has been going downhill, which is a great shame. I learn a lot from the forum, and hopefully have contributed a bit. Of late I have been learning tolerance and patience and how not to treat my fellow man, and to keep my ego " right sized". I shall miss Pargyle's posts.
We will soon be able to get into the hives and hopefully the tone of the posts will improve

Those days have gone.

Only if we let them be. I say it's time the silent majority spoke up. It's time the people who do this time after time were gone. In my book, newbies are allowed in on probation, if they behave rationally, they're allowed to stay. If they don't, they're banned....and a ban means a ban for life. No coming back under assumed names and allowed to do the same thing all over again. People can disagree but still be civil. We shouldn't have the same nonsense every winter

Do what time after time B+?
If you read this thread you will find that the only one throwing insults at selected posters is the only one to have thrown his rattle out of the pram. I've certainly said nothing antagonistic in any of my posts; on this thread at least :)

That has to be a decision made by moderators and forum owners but yes this winter has been bad for the cabin fever.

Time to pray for spring to arrive now!

I will take no blame for pargle's rant, if he can not take the heat stay out of the kitchen when a bit of light hearted banter is flying around, folk can call me what they want over the internet as it is like water of a ducks back to me and quickly forgotten about, maybe more folk should do the same, after all this is only the internet and we only live once.

Chill out P Argle..;)

I disagree. This encourages keyboard warriors to say things online they wouldn't have the guts to say to your face. That is what causes these problems

I agree, some of us here passionately believe that this forum is for teaching and learning through reasoned debate. I get hurt when someone is out and out rude, it is no excuse to say 'get over it because it doesn't hurt me' . Amusing quips are fine, banter is ok, but this constant rude bickering between two or three of you gets waring.
I will give advice, right or wrong, to anyone who needs it and I will ask for it if necessary. I don't confess to knowing everything, and little outside my experience.
There is a fine line between banter and bullying, let's all try and stay on the right side of it for a while.
Those are my thoughts on the matter

Dear Lord this is a Beekeeping forum with many level headed senior members, i see no threats or threatening behavior towards any of these members to warrant the WORD Key Board Warriors, go on a hunting forum full of kids and pretend Gypsies and you will most certainly see a true keyboard warrior, like i have witnessed many times, death threats/ threats to steal my dog's and even places to meet up for a fist fight... i see none of that on here all i see is a bit of banter in the quiet times, i think some folk need to get out more in the real world, by the way that was not a key board warrior threat..:sunning:

This is a beekeeping forum. Such threats are out of place here. ANY threats are out of place here.
What you call "banter" may be deeply offensive to someone else. It's not always easy to see when someone is joking on here (i.e. in type).

You might want to adopt a higher set of standards than those of the other sites you frequent. What's considered too much on a forum for juvenile delinquents probably isn't a great bench mark for what's appropriate here.
That's said I can't think of an occasion where I've taken millet as being particularly offensive, the humour is usually evident ( even the sexually diseased comment)

If you want to deal with an existing problem, then have the courage to actually deal with it.

The most predictably rude, condescending and uncivil character here is well-established in this parish.

'Newbies' are not the problem. Yet.
