Planting for a hive

An often overlooked problem when using attractants, wasp traps sitting on top of the hive is not a good idea, and sweat products including necta near a hive will eventually attract wasps to the honey source and the end your hive, this year we are suffering badly from wasps, last year we hardly see any. We must have 100 wasp traps out this year all doing a great job.

We don't seem to get a June gap here , rather an August gap What do you reccomend for planting that flowers at that time . I also have a high bank to plant so was wondering about shrubs for it

Russian sage. Flowering now. They go absolutely mental for it.

Yes and what is more it doesnot need much water and is very easy to reproduce.

Y ou are lucky to have one, I haven't seen any for a very long time now - they used to be quite common in damper areas.

We planted quite a few hoping for Brimstones. No luck but the bees love them.
