So here's what happened . Last year I was warming through a bucket for someone else . My honey , but this beekeeper never has enough and I fill in her shortfall . As you can see I get it down from set to half way to full liquid , she collects it and I get paid .
4 steps down the stairs and the handle fails on the bucket . 30lbs of it now over carpet , my works coat and splashed 5ft up the wall .
Dont laugh . Well , allright then , seeing as how the weather is so lousy have one on me .

You'll have to reduce the entrance to prevent robbing ;)

My Labrador and Teckel nearly tore through me to get to it . Dogs on a sugar rush when the other half got home .
The real killer was when I asked the Co op very nicely to cover the cost of the carpet and was told I wasnt covered as it was accidental!!!!
Perhaps I should have lied and told them I did it on purpose .

That's OUTRAGEOUS! What's insurance for, if not for accidents!?

:iagree:

Check your policy. Cover for accidental damage is a major reason for insuring. If the Coop don't cover it, don't renew with them.

What do they actually cover?

Puts my little problem with my conservatory in perspective:redface:

Can't recall what happened but a few years ago a beekeeper in Yorkshire ended up with honey soaked carpets in his car.

He parked up next to his apiary one day and left the windows open. The carpets were sucked dry by sunset and no stickyness was left.

Another reason to have the warmer on the ground floor.
Mines upstairs, may rethink....

Baggy

Chase up your insurer again, they like to try and wriggle out of paying out so keep pursuing it...let them know you are not going to let it go.

i've done this before it works well,

If you just scrap off the worst and hire a carpet cleaner or wet vac you will easilly wash that out, it looks worse than it is.

I never trust warmed honey bucket handles after having a few fail on me, i always hold them by the rims when warm.

The pic was taken last yr . So all suggestions received with thanks but we had to move on from there quickly .
I cut the carpet up straight away , it was all the way across the treads so we couldnt access the top end of the house so it had to come up .

Thanks to Nellie for the technical help getting the picture sorted . Cheers Neil .
(The poor focus was my fault) .
